An important aspect of many heritage projects, such as planning studies, large
public infrastructure initiatives, and cemetery investigations, is public consultation. ASI is experienced in
the area of stakeholder consultation and has designed and implemented such programs for
both the private and public sectors.

We are leaders in establishing consultation programs with appropriate First Nations
representatives to ensure that consultation is effective and inclusive. For example, we have recently
undertaken an extensive First Nations consultation program for the Ontario Realty Corporation
with regards to the Central Pickering Development Lands, with Chief Kris Nahrgang of the Kawartha
Nishnaubeg First Nation and assisted the
City of Hamilton in their negotiations with respect to Haudenasaunee concerns over cultural
heritage features within the Red Hill Valley Project lands. We have on many occasions
participated in discussions regarding disposition agreements for Aboriginal and early European cemeteries.
